DC Singer Collective

Members of the DC Singer Collective present "Songs We Love," a concert dedicated to repertoire that brings us joy to sing. The concert will feature a mix of solo and ensemble pieces from a variety of genres, including opera, choral works and musical theater.

The Plague of Love

St. John's Lafayette Midweek Music Concerts

Members of Campo delle stelle present a repeat performance of "The Plague of Love," featuring madrigals by Strozzi and Monteverdi. In a time & region where devastating plagues could be common and life was short, composers Claudio Monteverdi and Barbara Strozzi and the poets whose texts they set focused much of their artistic energy on love, depicting it alternately as torture, war, distraction, delight.
